IRATA Technical Event and Conference

ITEC 2011

The IRATA event was another great success this year and was attended by over 140 delegates representing countries from every continent. In addition to the AGM there were business and technical meetings held which were both informative and also gave an opportunity for delegates to discuss their points of view. There were also nine exhibitor stands which displayed a range of equipment.

Rope Man Challenge – ITEC 2011
The popular Rope Man Challenge was held again this year at the ITEC. 6 teams battled it out but the winners of Rope Man Challenge 2011 were Karl Raby and Leigh Greenwood. They were the reigning champions from last year. This year’s event was kindly sponsored once again by Total Access (UK) Ltd and money was raised for “Help for Heroes”. ITEC 2010

The Technical Day which featured the "Ropeman Challenge" sponsored by Total Access was a great success. Wendy was a little unsure about being the live casualty, as her face shows on the picture below.

There were a number of discussions about the forthcoming review of the General Requirements. We took the opportunity of having both UK and Overseas members in attendance to discuss many different areas with them including Fall Arrest and Registration review. This proved to be a popular part of the programme.

Once again the ITEC and the Dinner this year provided an idea opportunity for all members to network and socialise together in the relaxed atmosphere of the Fire Services College.
