Industrial Rope Access Trade Association
IRATA CEO in Brasil

Speaking at Brasil Offshore 2007, Rod Dymott gave credit to Petrobras for their achievement of self-sufficiency in oil and gas for their country, for their advances in drilling techniques and their concern for environmental matters; he claimed that the increasing commitment to IRATA rope access in the country endorsed this concern for the environment by virtue of the simplicity and non-mechanical nature of the IRATA access methods.

Stressing IRATA's record of safe working, training excellence and operational experience, Rod told his audience that Brasil was following the successful moves that many offshore industries had made to rope access in the past and urged the associated industries to consider how much more widely the process could be used in the country, especially in respect of onshore fuel installations and storage facilities.

During his visit Rod met with new and existing IRATA member companies and watched IRATA training and assessment in progress.
