We are currently seeking one IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technician for assignments based out of the Richmond office at located at 12271 Horseshoe Way, Richmond, BC V7A 4V4. Work locations include numerous worksites around the Pacific Region (British Columbia) and therefore, some travel throughout the province will be required. This position is available for an immediate start date. This will be a full time permanent position working 40 hours per week, with an hourly wage rate starting at $35.00 CDN per hour. Extended health and dental benefits will be provided after 90 days. Emergency medical coverage will be provided if required until the 90 day period is met or provincial health card is obtained. RRSP will be available after 6 months of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technician is responsible for:

  • Providing safety management, work site organization, and supervisory leadership and accountabilities to work crews on various projects.
  • Utilizing specialized knowledge of “Rope Access Technology” to execute projects from inception through to completion. These projects include:
    • High angle rope access industrial maintenance, repairs, mechanical rigging and installations
    • On site fall protection, high angle rescue and rescue training
    • Welding repairs in difficult to access locations 4G-6G
    • Inspection services including a full range of traditional non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions, including Magnetic Particle testing, Liquid Penetrant testing, Visual testing, Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement, Eddy Current testing, and Positive Material Identification to support asset integrity in difficult to access locations
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety and performance of the Level 1 and Level 2 technicians under his/her direction.
  • Preparing and submitting reports on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring operational safety of all equipment.
  • Liaising with Operations Managers regarding project work.
  • Liaising with clients and site operations crew to ensure scope of job is understood and well executed.
  • Travelling to various work locations throughout the region as required.


Training and Skill Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification required including proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and rescue/hauling.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technician.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate and execute the skills and knowledge required of Level 1, 2 and 3 IRATA Certified Rope Access Technicians.
  • Valid drivers’ license is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.
  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to work productively in adverse conditions.
  • Physically and mentally fit.

Job Profile:
This position of TIE requires the individual to be competent in application of thermal insulation products i.e Mineral Wool, Celluar Glas, Terostat, Nitrile Rubber, Armacheck as well as Metallic and Non Metallic Cladding.
The Insulators assigned to this scope must be deemed competent in all aspects of insulation work.

involved. Experience in sales is highly beneficial although can be balanced with an understanding of
products, markets and people, and a desire to succeed in any challenge put forward.
While we are currently looking for a full time employee, an agent or distribution partner would also be
considered to address the UK market.
