The person we seek should meet the following criteria:

  • Ideally hold professional  qualifications in respect of Health & Safety and audit, e.g. NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications

Main Activities:

  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are formally reported within 24 hours to support Cape HSE and Irata accident recording process.
  • Keep up to date with all current UK legislation pertaining to Rope Access activities e.g.  International Code of Practice (ICOP) IRATA Bye Laws/ IRATA General Requirements Working at Height Regulations , BS EN 7985, LOLER, PUWER and maintain awareness of good industry practice in this respect.
  • Undertake three Rope Access Process and Safety Audits and in liaison with the Safety Personnel, assist in verifying and ensuring task risk assessment and safety method statements are undertaken for all works.
  • Proactively demonstrate and profile good safety management and leadership at all times.
  • Support other Rope Access Managers in their daily management, supervision, support, motivation and resourcing of his/her contracts.
  • Maintain regular and effective contact with existing Client (Perenco, BP, Petrofac and HMC) and develop Client / Contractor relationships to optimise all business opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of suitable business plans as directed to facilitate and support accurate budget, cost.
  • Assist the Rope Access Manager as directed in the collation, compilation, calculation, submission and reporting of all commercial reports to help ensure the accurate commercial control, accountability and forecasting of his Projects.
  • Assist in the compilation of cost estimates, evaluations and tender bids as directed, including the compilation of all supporting data to meet critical Contract dates and deadlines.
  • Prepare fully detailed work packs on time and professionally to execute on all assets.
  • Assist with the full and proper resourcing of your project by helping as directed with the provision of suitably checked and verified Rope Access Technicians to undertake the works in a safe  and effective manner.
  • Carry out Rope Access competency verification (SAP) conduct Rope Access trade tests and facilitate offshore inductions of all rope access employees as directed in keeping with the Company current procedures.
  • Help address unacceptable or inadequate performance as directed and in keeping with Cape’s procedures.
  • Help to ensure a formal redress and resolve of any and all queries and complaints from operatives’, clients or third parties alike using Cape’s Formal Query or Grievance Procedure.
  • Support Cape’s Emergency Duty Rota, by regularly providing Emergency Safety and Operational Cover to all projects out of normal working hours. The current period of duty is one week but the cycle will vary and be amended from time to time depending on the number of managers sharing the role.
