The Project

Role: 
Based at our Regional Office in Warrington with the expectation to travel throughout the UK.
This position will involve the management and development of the Rope Access Division within our regional areas as well as providing Business Development support to our sales team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinating all Rope Access personnel to meet project requirements; assisting Business Development Department in evaluating new and existing business opportunities; managing department resources, budgets including staffing, training, and performance management and development.
  • Providing safety management, work site organisation, and supervisory leadership and accountabilities to regional teams on various projects.
  • Utilising specialised knowledge of “IRATA Rope Access Procedures” to execute projects from inception through to completion.
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety and performance of the Level 1, 2 & 3 technicians under your direction.
  • Preparing and submitting risk assessments and method statement reports on a timely basis.
  • Ensuring suitability and operational safety of all equipment.
  • Liaising with Regional Contracts Managers regarding project work.
  • Liaising with clients and rope access teams to ensure scope of job is understood and well executed.
  • Travelling to various work locations throughout the UK as required.
  • Current IRATA Level 3 Certification required including proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, manoeuvres, climbing and rescue.

What you will bring:

Acuren has five (5) immediate openings for IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to support our Sarnia office located at 396 South McGregor Side Road, Unit 1, Sarnia, Ontario N7T 7H5. These positions require Level 3 IRATA certification combined with a minimum of 3 years’ experience overseeing the delivery of rope access services in industrial environments.  Current first aid certification is also required.   The successful candidates will be required to have an understanding and knowledge of applicable application of rope access, comprehensive knowledge of theory, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and hauling, as well as comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques. Duties and Responsibilities:
The IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technician is responsible for:

  • Providing safety management, work site organization, and supervisory leadership and accountabilities to work crews on various projects.
  • Utilizing specialized knowledge of “Rope Access Technology” to execute projects from inception through to completion. These projects include:
    • High angle rope access industrial maintenance, repairs, mechanical rigging and installations

Training and Skill Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification required including proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing and rescue/hauling.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as IRATA Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technician.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate and execute the skills and knowledge required of Level 1, 2 and 3 IRATA Certified Rope Access Technicians.
  • Valid drivers’ license is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.
  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to work productively in adverse conditions.
  • Physically and mentally fit.
